Hi all, In a previous chapter of my career, I spent time in the ERP space, mainly in the manufacturing and distribution industries. In those industries, ERP is not only the “Financials” (Payroll, A/P, G/L) but also the operational system of record for orders, billing, inventory, production, and distribution workflows. In healthcare, many of these functions are automated, and the data is captured in the EHR. One possible approach to achieving data integration where it is needed for for financial projections and planning is in a class of software called FP&A. “FP&A tool is <b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; color: var(–bb-body-text-color);”>a software solution to optimize financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes. FP&A software vendors often provide vital insights into financial performance, helping companies plan future actions, allocate resources efficiently, and make informed strategic decisions.” FP&A software allows you to bring data in from other sources that may be set up as “Drivers” to the financial performance that can then be used to forecast things like cash flow.
I may comment on this more in the future, but I would like to hear thoughts from other members first.
