REMINDER: Please Participate in EDPMA’s Data Collection Effort To Support Our Advocacy
EDPMA is launching a new data collection initiative to build on the outstanding success of EDPMA advocacy over the past two years, and we need your help.
Our IDR In the No Surprises Act – Deficiencies and Compliance Failures report – derived from de-identified and aggregated survey data – has been quoted in the House Ways and Means Committee, Sept. 19, 2023, and in national media that powerfully advanced corrective actions in the flawed and defective implementation of the No Surprises Act — particularly, in its Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) system. Our members’ participation made this possible.
Attached is a new survey template that updates and modestly expands earlier NSA/IDR data requests from 2022. That report was published in July 2023 and included CY 2022 data.
The scope of this new initiative covers calendar year 2023 dates-of-service for claims that qualified for submission into the federal IDR portal—whether or not the NSA-eligible claims were actually submitted into the open negotiation process.
As with most sectors of our economy–including healthcare services–success belongs to participants having an edge. EDPMA’s advocacy edge (including your organization as an EDPMA member) is relevant, timely, and accurate data!
Please ensure your organization takes part in this important initiative using this template. Submissions are due on March 1, 2024.
Your contributions will be de-identified and aggregated into an overall total for each of the survey elements. Our third-party consultant, Greg Hufstetler, CPA, will again serve as EDPMA’s data collector. Greg will not share anything with EDPMA (or anyone else) outside of the de-identified and aggregated results.
Questions about the data collection effort? Contact Greg Hufstetler at (215) 257-4148.
